The Maxum 3100 SCR is known for power, handling, and comfort. The deep-V-hull cuts through waves. The boat planes nicely when accelerated, giving the operator a high-above-the-waves view.
The owner of this boat reports that the twin V-8 350-horsepower MerCruiser engines provide plenty of power through choppy waters. The Bravo II drive provides maneuverability around docks and makes it easy to pull into a slip or get gas in a faraway harbor. The boat was also easy on fuel consumption.
The engines have 253 hours of use on them as of May 2012, according to an hour meter, the owner states.
The layout is unusually efficient, maximizing cabin space below. The owner particularly appreciates being able to get to the bow by walking down into the cabin and then straight up through the windshield as opposed to having to tiptoe around the sides of the cabin.
The owner also appreciates the molded platform in the back of the boat, which is much more solid than a plastic add-on common in other vessels in this class.
